Education and technology transfer constitute a critical element of the IRC's mission. We have developed a set of courses covering topics in industrial refrigeration design and operation that emphasize improving system safety, efficiency, and productivity. These courses are aimed at operators, engineers, contractors, regulatory compliance personnel, and others who need to better understand refrigeration systems.
The IRC has developed an internationally-recognized series of refrigeration courses presented through the University of Wisconsin Department of Interdisciplinary Professional Programs (Interpro), as well as other courses developed for individual clients.
The Interpro webpage has a list of the courses in the upcoming year. Most courses are held annually, based on popularity. Unless otherwise noted, all courses are held in Madison on the University of Wisconsin campus. Employees of IRC member companies are eligible for discounted enrollment fees. Online enrollment is available through the University. To enroll in a particular course see the course website for more information.
The Process Safety Management Professional Certificate is offered jointly by the Interpro and the IRC. The certificate consists of five core courses and one elective course, each designed to equip Process Safety Management Coordinators with the skills and knowledge necessary to be effective in their responsibilities in ammonia refrigerated facilities.
